VENTURE CAPITAL/PRIVATE EQUITY/PRIVATE MARKET OPDD REQUIRED. Hedge Fund/Asset Management OpDD experience does not qualify for this.
The Client
Our client is a global private markets specialist overseeing ~$500b of private market allocations, including approximately ~100b AUM. The client creates bespoke portfolios for sophisticated clients using the private markets including secondaries, real estate, credit and co-investments. The client provides private market asset supervision and consulting. The client has 20 offices globally.
Position Overview
The positions will assess the operational risk of private equity, private debt, real estate, and infrastructure. The ideal candidates will communicate effectively, meet deadlines, willing to travel , be self-sufficient and be a critical thinker.
The positions provide the OpDD solution on new, prospective & invested managers/funds through on-site meetings with C-level managers to assess controls, regulatory compliance, valuation, legal contracts, financial statements, assess service provider, prepare OpDD & risk reports, perform ad hoc projects and stay up-to-date on the market, industry trends and regulatory developments.
Analyze and synthesize such documents in order to identify risks and propose mitigating solutions to such risks
Conduct interviews via on-site visits or phone calls with COOs, CFOs, CCOs and other operations personnel, including IT personnel, to discuss potential risks in IT infrastructure, operational controls, compliance and valuation processes
Prepare detailed operational due diligence and risk assessment reports
Review third-party service provider relationships and agreement terms as well as perform desktop reviews in addition to on-site reviews of service providers
Assist with developing, executing and monitoring projects on the GPs and LPs in the client's portfolios
Keep abreast of market developments, industry trends and regulatory matters
Assist and perform ad hoc projects and reviews related to the operational due diligence function
Educations and/or Work Experience Requirements
10+ years of experience performing audit, running the accounting & financial operations for the GP/LP or as a controller/ CFO in the private markets
University bachelor’s degree is required; CPA, CFA, CAIA preferred
5+ yrs of VC/PE OpDD exp required
Excellent report writing and communication skills
