Chief Technology and Software Development Officer - Report to CEO. Lead IT & culture transformation of a 75 year old ~$500M Mississippi based financial services company from server to cloud architecture. Lead development of proprietary system that drives the business. 20+ employees in department. Total compensation is $225-$300k.
The Chief Technology and Software Development Officer (CTO/SDO) for a Gulf States Consumer Lending Company is a senior-level executive who is responsible for overseeing the organization's technology and software development initiatives and roadmap. The role reports to the CEO (who is son of the founder) of the privately held firm that is private equity backed.
Responsibilities:
Setting the overall technology and software development strategy for the organization
Leading the culture, managing and directing the work of the technology and software development teams
Identifying new technologies and software development tools that could benefit the organization
Ensuring that the organization's technology and software systems are aligned with its business goals and objectives
Collaborating with other departments to identify and prioritize technology and software development projects
Working with external vendors and partners to secure technology and software solutions
Managing budgets and resources for technology and software development projects
Monitoring industry trends and staying up-to-date with new technologies and software development best practices
Providing leadership and guidance to the technology and software development teams to help them achieve their goals and objectives.
Requirements:
A bachelor's degree in a related field, such as computer science, software engineering, or information technology. A master's degree is preferred.
15+ years leading a high-results culture, recruiting and motivating the best and having strong technical skills and a deep understanding of software development and technology.
Examples of 1) reorganizing & fixing the organization and culture of an IT organization; 2) creating and implementing a state-of-the-art technology roadmap; 3) maintaining and having a constant-process-improvement and exciting culture after you've fixed and implemented the new roadmap.
Leadership and management experience, including the ability to lead and manage a team of technology and software development professionals.
Strong communication skills and the ability to effectively convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
The ability to think strategically and make decisions that are in the best interests of the organization.
Experience working with external vendors and partners to secure technology and software solutions.
A track record of success in delivering technology and software development projects on time and within budget.
Familiarity with industry trends and an ability to stay up-to-date with new technologies and software development best practices.
