Remote/Hybrid Private Equity Accounting, Tax & Investor Relations
Remote/hybrid roles for private equity & venture capital accounting/investor relations - Three separate companies with offices in the Connecticut, DC area, New York (central NY and Manhattan), Minneapolis, and Philadelphia. 0-3 years’ experience preferred but if you have an accounting degree will train over 4 one-week periods over 3 months. All expenses paid when training at company location*. Total compensation $65k to $100k depending on qualifications and experience.
Note: For remote roles, you have to be willing to drive/take public ground transportation to the office to which you will report while training, for client meetings, important company meetings, and company celebrations/events (holiday parties, quarterly company updates, etc.). For most people, this means driving at most 3-4 hours.*
Responsibilities
Being lead and trained by Private Equity and Venture Capital Accounting Managers, many of whom have CPAs and public accounting experience, so you will learn from the best, work on multiple funds by:
account by doing journal entries for client report preparation, cash reporting, expenses, accruals, investments, capital calls, line of credit activity, and distributions; and perform general ledger maintenance
interacting with clients and answer the clients' investors questions on the phone and through written communications
create quarterly and annual reporting packages that you submit for management approval
operations functions such as wires and transfers in coordination with the treasury function
learn by participating enrolling in professional outside education (i.e., Master's in Accounting, CPA, CAIA, etc.), being a part of internal company education and training opportunities, networking with clients and professional organizations
expand the breadth of your career by learning tax, business development and technology.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field. Note: If you don't have a degree but have the knowledge that an accounting degree would provide and can prove it, you meet this requirement.
Passion to learn Private Equity and Venture Capital Accounting. For exceptionally accomplished people (e.g., expert knowledge of QuickBooks, demonstrated outstanding performance as a bookkeeper, etc.), the firm will train you.
1-3 years' experience and excellent performance as reflected in performance reviews you can share with the client required for compensation up to $100k+.
Proficiency in MS Office and Quickbooks or a related accounting package
Examples of outstanding problem solving, multi-tasking, problem-solving, verbal and written communication with team members, clients and potential clients, time management, attention to detail, going beyond the call of duty to meet a professional or personal commitment, and planning as reflected in performance reviews.
